3-year communications partnership with a Spanish human rights NGO — managing content strategy, social media, press and event coverage across projects in Tunisia, Colombia, Niger, El Salvador, Palestine and Spain.

Social media content and event coverage for ACPP across multiple international projects

The Partnership

ACPP (Assemblea de Cooperació per la Pau) is a Spanish NGO working on human rights and international cooperation across multiple regions — including Tunisia, Colombia, Niger, El Salvador, Palestine and several local projects in Spain.

From 2021 to 2024, I worked as their external communications team through La Cosecha Comunicación — with regular strategy and budget meetings, ongoing coordination with ACPP’s project technicians, and continuous involvement across their full portfolio of active projects. In practice, I functioned as an embedded communications partner rather than a one-off supplier.

Scope & Responsibilities

Content strategy & social media: Developed and maintained the content strategy for ACPP’s social channels across all active projects — writing copy, editing visuals and managing the editorial calendar in coordination with the organisation’s internal teams. Content was adapted to reflect the specific context of each country programme without losing organisational voice or consistency.

Social media content examples

Press & media relations: Drafted and distributed press releases for project milestones and campaign moments across the portfolio. Managed ongoing relationships with journalists covering human rights, international cooperation and development.

Event coordination & coverage: Coordinated communications for multiple events throughout the partnership — managing convocatories, press outreach, on-site coverage and post-event reporting.

Event coverage

KPI tracking & impact reporting: Tracked performance metrics across social channels for all active projects. Produced impact reports for internal use and for submission to funding agencies, translating data into narrative formats suitable for institutional audiences.

Team coordination: Maintained ongoing working relationships with ACPP’s project technicians across different country programmes — attending regular strategy and budget meetings and ensuring communications activity was aligned with each project’s objectives and timeline.

What This Project Demonstrates

A long-term partnership like this one requires something that campaign work doesn’t: the ability to maintain strategic coherence across multiple simultaneous projects, each with its own context, stakeholders and reporting requirements — while remaining responsive to an organisation’s evolving needs over three years.

It also reflects a working model I value: being genuinely embedded in an organisation’s work, not just delivering outputs. The regularity of the meetings, the budget involvement and the cross-project coordination meant I had to understand ACPP’s priorities at an institutional level, not just a communications one.
